Meet the Team: DanceWize NSW Coordinator Brodie (he/she/they).
Brodie, a Gamilaroi person, started as a DanceWize NSW volunteer at Lost Paradise in 2023 before stepping into the coordinator position last year.
“I went to Lost Paradise alone and left with a brand-new group of legends that I now get to work with every day.”
Brodie says they were drawn to DanceWize because she loves “having a boogie and helping people” now he gets to do that all over NSW.
“It's wicked that I get to spend my days at really cool events all across NSW with a bunch of like-minded legends who also want to do good and help out.
“Ultimately, I love that we can foster a non-judgemental safe space where people can get the help they need.”
Brodie lives with their husband and his dog Ponyo, named after the Ghibli movie of the same name (“though he doesn’t love water much at all,” Brodie says).
Outside of work, Brodie can be found gaming, watching “weird” horror movies or losing at pub trivia.
“We've never won, and not even really come close but we love it.”
